Lingamaneni Ramesh of the Jana Sena Party filed his nomination for a Rajya Sabha seat this Saturday, securing a powerful coalition endorsement. The industrialist’s bid is bolstered by the public support of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ramesh, who has remained a loyal fixture within the Jana Sena Party since 2015, received the official nod from Pawan Kalyan just one day prior to his filing. Following his submission, he publicly acknowledged the party leadership, emphasizing his commitment to the collaborative vision shared by his political mentors. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on promoting social harmony and regional development, weathering the party's electoral challenges during the 2019 assembly cycle. The nomination aligns with the Election Commission’s broader schedule for biennial elections covering 24 Rajya Sabha seats across ten states. With the deadline for nominations set for June 8, the process will address four vacancies each in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Gujarat. The legislative calendar also includes by-elections for single seats in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha, marking a critical period for parliamentary seat distribution.
