Revanth Reddy Accuses BRS of Mismanaging Palamuru Irrigation Funds

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has launched a scathing attack on the previous BRS administration, accusing former officials of siphoning public money while leaving the critical Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme in a state of neglect, despite the project's capacity to provide 90 TMC of water to the region.

The Chief Minister pointed to a stark disparity in fiscal priorities during the decade-long BRS rule. While the previous government funneled Rs 1 lakh crore into the Kaleshwaram project, the Palamuru-Rangareddy scheme received only Rs 27,000 crore. Reddy characterized the heavy spending on pump and lift installations as a deliberate strategy to extract commissions rather than a genuine effort to finalize infrastructure.

Despite the inherited financial strain, the current administration has pledged to prioritize the completion of the district's stalled irrigation works. Reddy urged residents to remain patient, framing the current situation as a necessary correction to years of administrative failure that he believes will be harshly judged by history.
