Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has issued a public challenge to Vladimir Putin, demanding a direct meeting to address the escalating conflict. Disclosed on Thursday, the open letter positions this potential summit as a decisive pivot point, framing the dialogue as an ultimatum against the backdrop of growing domestic unrest within Russia.
The Kremlin confirmed that spokesman Dmitry Peskov briefed the Russian president on the contents of the letter. While the proposal signals an attempt at diplomacy, Zelenskiy simultaneously reinforced Ukraine’s military posture, stating that his government remains prepared for continued combat should these negotiations fail to materialize.By adopting a combative tone, the Ukrainian leader is attempting to force a diplomatic confrontation while acknowledging the mounting pressure on the Russian administration. This maneuver effectively shifts the burden of the next move onto Moscow, drawing renewed international scrutiny toward Putin’s response to the proposal.
