With a massive investment of 1.1 billion yuan, or $162.38 million, Xinhua News Agency is launching 'Xinhua Yudian.' The platform will deploy artificial intelligence to curate and disseminate 'Xi Jinping Thought,' aiming to establish a definitive, government-sanctioned digital authority amidst the broader challenges of online information overload and public skepticism.
The project, disclosed in filings with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, functions as an AI-powered agent designed to synthesize and present the president’s ideological framework. By providing automated references to official policy documents and historical discourses, the initiative seeks to consolidate the Chinese Communist Party’s narrative control across the digital landscape. This development marks a significant escalation in Beijing’s 'AI+' campaign, a strategic push to embed machine learning technologies into every facet of the national economy. The new tool follows the 2019 introduction of the 'Xuexi Qiangguo' app, which previously sought to gamify and incentivize the study of state ideology. By integrating these systems, the state aims to replace fragmented news consumption with a centralized, reliable source for policy interpretation, ensuring that the party’s messaging remains the primary filter for public information.
