West Bengal BJP leader Agnimitra Paul has thrown her support behind the National Investigation Agency’s raid on former TMC MLA Saokat Molla, declaring that those who collude with terrorists to destabilize the state must face the full weight of the law, regardless of their political standing or past influence.
Paul sharpened her critique of the Trinamool Congress, characterizing the party’s historical governance as an exercise in unchecked arrogance where leaders acted as though they were beyond reach. She credited the public with finally demanding accountability, viewing the recent federal intervention as a necessary corrective to a culture of impunity. The NIA’s sweep of Molla’s residence marks a significant escalation in the ongoing investigation into a pre-election bombing incident. This inquiry has already led to several high-profile arrests, including that of TMC leader Wahidul Islam. By targeting key figures, the agency aims to dismantle the infrastructure behind terror-related activities that have plagued the region since the last assembly polls.
