Rashidi challenged the Hyderabad MP to provide specific data, questioning how many of the 92,000 names removed from the electoral rolls were actually Muslim, and how many of those deletions involved disputed Form 7 filings. He argued that election protocols necessitate rigorous official verification—including neighborhood checks—before any voter is removed, regardless of the applicant's identity. According to Rashidi, framing administrative procedures as targeted discrimination is a recurring tactic used to stir unnecessary panic among the electorate.
This rebuttal follows Owaisi’s public warning at the 57th Jalsa-e-Milad-un-Nabi, where he threatened widespread protests in Hyderabad. Owaisi accused the BJP and Sangh Parivar of submitting anonymous, fraudulent Form 7 applications to purge Muslim voters from the rolls. He demanded that the Election Commission of India intervene, labeling the lack of transparency in the filing process a direct threat to democratic representation. While Owaisi insists the situation warrants street-level mobilization, Rashidi maintains that the AIMIM leader is prioritizing identity politics over the realities of the statutory verification process.
