Sanjay Tandon ends six-year tenure leading Himachal Pradesh BJP

After six years overseeing organizational strategy for the Himachal Pradesh BJP, senior leader Sanjay Tandon stepped down from his post as state Co-In-Charge this week. The farewell, held at a party meeting in Hamirpur, marked the conclusion of a tenure defined by extensive travel across the state’s assembly constituencies.

Addressing party workers in Tipper, Tandon emphasized that his connection to the region transcended professional duties. He lauded the discipline of the local cadre, noting that he frequently highlights their commitment as a model for other states. During the event, Tandon urged the party to move past the 2022 election results, calling on members to identify operational gaps and build momentum for the 2027 assembly cycle.

"We need to address the gaps, work with renewed determination and become ten times stronger for 2027," Tandon stated, challenging the notion that the party’s electoral trajectory is fixed. The meeting, chaired by state president Dr. Rajiv Bindal, also served as an introduction for his successor, Darshana Singh. Tandon expressed confidence in the transition, telling attendees he expects the organization to gain strength under Singh’s guidance. The event was attended by prominent figures including Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and state in-charge Shrikant Sharma.
