Beni Rae Harmony Appointed Assistant White House Press Secretary

Beni Rae Harmony, the 24-year-old former Chief White House Correspondent for Real America’s Voice, is pivoting from the briefing room press corps to the administration’s podium. Starting Monday, she assumes the role of Assistant Press Secretary, filling a vacancy left by the departure of Karoline Leavitt earlier this summer.

Harmony confirmed the appointment on X, expressing gratitude to President Donald Trump for the opportunity to serve. Her transition into the administration marks a significant shift from her previous role, where she gained prominence for her coverage of the current administration. Anna Kelly, the White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary, welcomed the move, characterizing Harmony as a trusted voice for the MAGA movement who will bolster the president's communications team.

Before her tenure at Real America’s Voice, which began in September 2025, Harmony worked as a news anchor in Springfield, Illinois. Her departure from that position followed a public dispute over an on-air tribute she delivered regarding conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Harmony previously held a role at Turning Point USA, the advocacy group founded by Kirk, between 2021 and 2022. Her appointment follows the August resignation of Karoline Leavitt, who stepped down as Press Secretary to focus on her family and transition into a role as an outside advisor to the president.
