The two men were intercepted by unidentified gunmen in a targeted strike that left Khan dead at the scene and Baloch critically injured. Following the attack, Baloch was transported to the Civil Trauma Hospital in Karachi, where medical staff struggled to stabilize him for nearly two weeks before he succumbed to his injuries.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee characterized the incident as a symptom of systemic violence currently plaguing the region. Beyond this specific shooting, the organization cited a broader pattern of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. They are now calling for an independent, impartial inquiry into the deaths of Khan and Baloch, urging both national and international human rights bodies to intervene and address the escalating instability in Balochistan.
