The ceremony drew an extensive list of government and opposition figures, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Health Minister J. P. Nadda. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were also in attendance, alongside the Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh and L Murugan. The opposition presence was equally prominent, featuring Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined the ranks of parliamentarians and visiting students to pay their respects.
Beyond the capital, the commemorations extended across the country. In Odisha, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over a Sarva-Dharma Prarthana at the state assembly. Simultaneously, in Patna, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Governor Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) shifted focus to the 122nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, offering floral tributes at LBS Park.
