YSRCP Challenges State Financial Data in Clash with Naidu

The YSR Congress Party has launched a sharp rebuttal against the coalition government's recent white paper on state finances, labeling the document a collection of distorted figures. Party representative Duvvuri Krishna argued that the data serves only to mask the current administration's own failures and mounting economic regression.

Addressing media in Tadepalli, Krishna disputed the narrative that the previous YSRCP administration left behind a crippled economy. He pointed to a recorded negative growth rate of 3.2 percent in the manufacturing and service sectors under the current TDP leadership, suggesting the coalition is struggling to maintain stability. According to Krishna, the state’s interest growth rate has surged to 15.43 percent, significantly outpacing the 13 percent GSDP growth, which he cited as a hallmark of fiscal indiscipline.

The YSRCP further challenged the specific debt figures presented by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. While the government claims a debt burden of 9.74 lakh crore, Krishna dismissed the figure as unsubstantiated, asserting that actual borrowing under the previous term stood at 6.46 lakh crore. He also criticized the slow rollout of coalition campaign pledges, noting that only 13 percent of the funding required for the 'Super Six' and 'Super Seven' programs has been utilized to date, leaving key promises to Self-Help Groups unfulfilled.
