Udhayanidhi Stalin accuses TVK government of political diversion

Stalin characterized the government's tactics as a desperate attempt to obscure a deteriorating law-and-order situation, citing five custodial deaths and six caste-based murders over the past five weeks. Addressing the media, he criticized the Chief Minister’s silence regarding his detention, suggesting that the administration is struggling to address legitimate grievances. The former Deputy CM also turned his focus to the government’s maiden budget, dismissing it as a collection of rebadged initiatives. He alleged that the TVK administration simply rebranded existing programs, such as the state laptop scheme, under the 'Vetri' label rather than introducing original policies to fulfill campaign promises.

Beyond fiscal policy, Stalin accused the government of inaction regarding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). He questioned why the Chief Minister remains disengaged from public protests against the exam, noting that the responsibility for responding to the opposition has been offloaded to the PWD Minister. The DMK has pledged to maintain pressure throughout the current Assembly session, demanding a clear roadmap for governance that moves beyond mere name changes and tactical arrests.
