The Lok Sabha faced adjournment until 2 PM on Wednesday as opposition members intensified their push for ministerial statements. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge stated that the government’s refusal to engage in debate within the House undermines parliamentary authority. He emphasized that the opposition remains prepared for a constructive discussion, provided the Prime Minister and Home Minister appear to answer for their actions.
Specific grievances driving the protests include allegations of police brutality against students at Jantar Mantar, reported embezzlement involving Ayodhya Ram Mandir donations, and the delayed restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain specifically called for Amit Shah to explain the use of pellet guns and force against young demonstrators. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined a march from the Gandhi statue at Prerna Sthal to Makar Dwar, asserting that the government must stop treating the country like a "royal court" and provide transparency on who authorized the use of lathi charges and force against citizens.
