Bhatia asserted that the Union government successfully returned 274 fugitives from 36 countries between 2019 and 2026. According to the BJP, this effort resulted in the recovery of approximately Rs 18,762 crore, a feat he claims demonstrates the political resolve missing during the Congress party's tenure. He argued that the opposition leader fears these figures being presented on the floor of the House, as they would highlight the stark contrast between the current administration's actions and previous policies.
During a press conference, Bhatia labeled Gandhi an "irresponsible" leader who avoids parliamentary duty while making disparaging remarks about the Prime Minister and the RSS on foreign soil. He contended that the opposition's reluctance to engage in the legislature stems from a "Modi-phobia" that prevents them from acknowledging national successes. Beyond the issue of fugitives, Bhatia used the occasion to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, crediting Home Minister Amit Shah for executing a "historic" constitutional shift that reorganized the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
