Jai Ram Thakur Criticizes Omission of Former CMs at Parmar Anniversary

Addressing reporters in Shimla, Thakur emphasized that while Dr. Parmar remains the architect of modern Himachal, the state's development is a collective narrative spanning decades. He specifically pointed to the recent event at the Legislative Assembly, which he claims ignored the contributions of predecessors like Thakur Ram Lal, Shanta Kumar, Virbhadra Singh, and Prem Kumar Dhumal. According to the BJP leader, the government’s presentation failed to acknowledge the intervening years of governance, a departure from the inclusive approach taken during the previous administration's 75th-anniversary celebrations.

Thakur further criticized the decision to shift the commemorative venue away from the Assembly Library, a location previously chosen to elevate the dignity of the occasion. Dismissing Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's recent electoral forecasts for the BJP as unserious political rhetoric, Thakur asserted that public support remains firmly behind his party. He maintained that the state's progress relies on recognizing every leader's role in the developmental journey, calling for a tradition of non-partisan respect that transcends current political friction.
